The CFO RoundTable’s panel on Creating Value for a Successful Exit will provide attendees with a variety of perspectives on how to strategize, plan and execute a successful exit (liquidation event) for investors. Market trends, the exit process and maximizing the outcome will also be discussed. The panel will consist of a CFO who took a company public; a CFO who sold a company; an investment banker and lawyer with experience both IPO’s and selling companies; a public accountant who assists companies with exit readiness.

Our Speakers Include:

Ed Goldfinger, CFO, Zipcar
Ed Goldfinger has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Zipcar since September 2007. Prior to joining Zipcar, Mr. Goldfinger served as Chief Financial Officer of Spotfire, a business intelligence and analytics software company, from March 2007 until Spotfire was acquired in June 2007. Prior to joining Spotfire, Mr. Goldfinger was employed by Empirix Inc., a provider of service quality assurance solutions, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from November 2003 to December 2006 and as Chief Financial Officer from March 2002 to November 2003. Before joining Empirix, Mr. Goldfinger served as Chief Financial Officer of Sapient Corporation, an IT consulting firm, and held positions with PepsiCo, Inc., most recently, the Chief Financial Officer of the Latin American beverage business. He began his career with KPMG. Mr. Goldfinger holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton Undergraduate program at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Ed King, Partner, Goodwin Procter
Edward King, a partner in the firm’s Corporate and Technologies Companies Groups,  represents publicly and privately held corporations, investment banks and venture capital limited partnerships. He has experience in various areas of business practice including public offerings, venture capital transactions (including fund formation and private capital placement), private placements of debt and equity securities, mergers and acquisitions, and general representation of public and private companies.

Mr. King has represented companies as well as venture capitalists and investment banks in numerous venture capital financings. He also has represented private equity clients in connection with their own fund-raising and internal organizational issues.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter in 2005, Mr. King was an associate in the Business Practice Group at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault in Boston. Before that, he was an associate at Brown & Wood, LLP in New York. Mr. King has been recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Law & Politics and Boston magazine from 2005-2008. 

Mr. King graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fitchburg State College, and earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law.

Angiras Koorapaty, CFO, NitroSecurity
Angiras brings more than 20 years of broad based financial management experience in venture-funded and public companies and is charged with the company's financial, administration, human resources and legal operations. Prior to joining NitroSecurity, Mr. Koorapaty was CFO of Core Security Technologies, a leading developer of network and application penetration testing software. Under his operational leadership Core Security's business doubled over two years and achieved sustained cash flow profitability. Prior to Core Security, Angiras was CFO of Webhire (HIRE.PK), a provider of hosted human resource software, where he was instrumental in its growth and merger with Kenexa (KNXA). Prior to that Mr. Koorapaty was CFO of Corechange, an enterprise portal software company acquired by Open Text (OTEX). Previously, he held increasingly responsible positions in finance at Allstate Insurance Company. Mr. Koorapaty holds a MBA from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College (India). He is a Chartered Accountant and a licensed member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. 

Scott Mozarsky, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer PRNewswire 
As EVP, Chief Commercial Officer, Scott oversees PR Newswire's commercial activities worldwide, spearheading the company’s efforts to meet the communications, marketing and investor relations needs of its customers. Scott is accountable for growth at PR Newswire through organic (Global Sales and Marketing) and inorganic (Global M&A, joint ventures and strategic alliances) means.  Scott and his team ensure that PR Newswire’s services align with industry demand by identifying and integrating new tools and technologies that mesh with the company’s core communications offerings and provide a platform for continued growth. Prior to assuming this role, Scott was EVP and Chief Operating Officer of UBM LLC (formerly CMP Media), responsible for working with each of UBM's technology divisions (Everything Channel, TechInsights, TechWeb and Think Services) to achieve profitable growth. From 2002-2007, Scott headed up global corporate development & M&A for United Business Media Limited’s US based subsidiaries including UBM LLC (f/k/a CMP Media), PRNewswire, Commonwealth Business Media and CMP Healthcare.  Scott has completed over 75 acquisitions and a number of divestitures for UBM Limited's subsidiaries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America.  From 2002-2009, Scott also served as General Counsel for United Business Media Limited’s subsidiaries in North America and Latin America. Prior to joining the UBM Group, Mozarsky spent eight years at two multinational law firms representing media, technology, telecommunications, insurance and manufacturing companies.  Mozarsky, who speaks Japanese and lived in Japan, has advised numerous companies on business, financial and legal issues arising out of cross border transactions. Mozarsky earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Williams College and his J.D. from Fordham Law School.

Rahul Swani, Vice President, Harris Williams & Co.
Mr. Swani is a Vice President in Harris Williams &Co.’s Technology, Telecommunications and Digital Media (“TTDM”) Group. Mr. Swani has extensive experience providing transaction advisory services to middle market companies. Within TTDM, Mr. Swani has advised private companies, entrepreneurs and private equity firms in merger, acquisition, divestiture and private placement transactions in a range of technology-related sectors, including software, SaaS, telecommunications, healthcare information technology, data and analytics, IT services and digital media. Mr. Swani’s previous experience includes work at W.R. Huff & Company and as a Senior Consultant at Investor Group Services (IGS) providing strategic advisory and market diligence services to middle market clients.

Mr. Swani earned an M.B.A. from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Studies from Tufts University. Mr. Swani lives in Boston with his wife and son.

Christopher Vanella, Partner, KPMG
Chris is an audit partner in KPMG’s Boston Business Unit and has more than 17 years of public accounting experience.  Chris joined KPMG in the Boston office in 1994 and was admitted to the partnership in 2006.

Chris has experience working with global technology, life science, manufacturers and consumer products companies that are both publicly and privately held.  Chris has successfully coordinated several audit transitions.  In addition to audit and attest services, Chris has a broad experience in merger and acquisitions related services,  complex accounting transactions, a number of public offering documents and other SEC filings.

Chris is a national instructor for KPMG, participates regularly as a reviewer in KPMG’s annual Quality Performance Review Process, which is the firm’s national internal performance review process, and has participated in several leadership development programs sponsored by KPMG.   

Chris is a member of the AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Accountants, and earned his Bachelor's from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
